A Volunteer Pumpkin (Macro Monday)

lc2990

This summer we discovered a little weed by our front steps.  We watched it grow into a vine, then we watched it flower, eventually it put on two small pumpkins, one didn’t make it.

lc2987

The weather changed and the vine started to wither.  I ran out to snap a few shots of the mysterious pumpkin before plucking it.

Smaller than a baseball, a tiny white pumpkin.  Wonder where it came from. . .

Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign MckLinky. Don’t forget to visit each other. :)

Very cool white pumpkin. That’s not something you see everyday and it’s a volunteer. Great photos!

I´ve actually never seen a white pumpkin in real life. They look more appetizing to me, then the orange ones. Die you pick the pumpkin?

So cute. Love the white pumpkins. We add our old ones to the manure pile to compost over the year and usually end up with a few surprises of our own!

It must be the coach for the Cinderella of the fairy world. I’ve had a white pumpkin on my front porch since Halloween 2008. It’s still in perfect condition; how crazy is that?

Those sneaky pumpkins always grow better than the ones we plant. Last year I only got one pumpkin off my vine. It was a lovely big one though! :-)
