Thank you Betty!
I received this nice care package from Betty in Paraguay – from the Christmas Ornament Swap I hosted. This wooden ornament is rather big, several inches tall and very pretty!
While this is technically a key chain I’m glad she included it and I hung it on my tree as well. It seem rather fitting as we were in the US Philadelphia this year. lol
I love the colorful doily! I have not yet decided where to put it but I have used it in the background of a few photos recently. Love the happy colors!

BTW – if you participated but still have not received anything please let me know. I don’t want anyone being left out!
A Deer in some Christmas Lights
I signed up for Emma’s Christmas Exchange on facebook and received this beautiful deer!
Thank you SO much Renee!
I’m a lucky girl!
I am such a lucky, lucky girl! My wonderful bloggy friend, Dani used her nimble fingers to work this fine thread into this lovely piece of art! Then she decided to give it away on her blog and when I thought her daughter did a wonderful job picking names, lol.
Thank you so much Dani!
Happy Thanksgiving!
In August I signed up for Jan’s Pay-it-forward. Then I promptly forgot about it.
One day in October, I received this magnificent quilt in the mail! Jan tells me that the fabric is called happy campers and as I was it the circles will fray, rag quilt-like.
As you can see, Tristan loves it! There’s so much for him to see, so many little pictures in the fabrics used!
So, this is the day, I tell you, that it is my turn to Pay-it -forward. If you’re interested in receiving a little something made by me please let me know in comments. The rules state that I have 365 days to complete said project and send it to you. So you never know when you’ll open your mailbox and see a little package from me, and you don’t know what it’ll be, because I don’t even know yet, lol. I didn’t see anything in the rules about how many to do, so I’m going to say 2. Two lucky(?) peeps will get something made by my hands.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!! Have a wonderful family-filled day!
Last Chance for the Christmas Ornament Swap
CLOSED NOW – THANX
Monday (Nov 2nd) I have emailed everyone with their partner’s information. It will probably be Tuesday before I have a chance to sit down and start emailing people with their partners information. If you have not heard from me by Wednesday evening please contact me.
If you’re looking for ideas about what kind of ornament to send I would suggest something that signifies your state. I love getting ornaments from other states, like this lobster we picked up in Maine this year. Won’t he be smashing on our tree?!
Or, maybe you can find something that signifies your partner’s hobby? I just chanced upon this cute camera at a rest stop on our way to the Quad cities for a wedding. They only had one or I would have bought more.
Or, maybe you want to ask your swap buddy what kind of ornaments they like. Maybe they have ideas of santas, snowmen, bears, angels. . .
Don’t forget we all need to be ready to mail out our packages by November 14th! And most of all – Have fun!

The Flying Squirrel has a name
I promised Jelly Bellies to the person who chose the name for my newest friend. We have a winner, comment 31 – Tim suggested, “I would call him Pixel” Tim doesn’t have a blog to link to, but I have emailed him.
Please meet Pixel. An appropriate name for a boy or a girl, and for a petite flying squirrel. And something simple to call him/her while (s)he hangs out with us for a while.
Last Friday, we had our hottest day so far, even broke a record for hottest at 86 degrees. Poor Pixel was very hot since the trees do not yet have leaves and the sun was beating down on the bird house.
I felt so bad that I ran the sprinkle below the house trying to help cool the air. But the heat made her stay this way for much of the day. This is how I found out that we’ll be having babies and Pixel is a girl.
I don’t how long Pixel will be with us, so lets enjoy her while we can. I look forward to seeing babies!
