Macro Monday Remembering Spring
Remember my miniature rose that survived the winter? It didn’t survive the bunny. *sigh*
Last year we planted a little bit of ground cover in the flower bed to fill in. It came back nicely and even. . .
bloomed!
I had fun pointing the camera at the blooms, not looking through, not knowing what I captured until I saw it on my computer.
Just a day or two later they were opened.
The tulips actually put some buds on this year, but they did not bloom.

Macro Monday Flowers
Our summers are so short that I like to spend as much time as possible sticking my nose in flowers.
This time I took my camera along.

Macro Monday Skittles Feather
When I babysat my daughter’s parakeet I had a mess involved, but I didn’t mind, it gave me opportunity to play with the camera.
I never did get the exact view I was hoping for but I was stubborn and wouldn’t use my tripod.
Still, I thought some of them were fun.
See, messy bird! My family’s just glad I didn’t leave it there for a year before snapping, like I did with the cupcake, lol.

This feather came from our little friend who came in, lol.
Still, I would babysit again.
Macro Monday ~ Hatchling
Exciting things happening here over the weekend! I had to share that our eggs are hatching and the House Finch couple are parents to 3 so far. I am working on a longer post of their journey thus far that will be immediately below this one, but I had to take advantage of this neat experience for a Macro Monday. He’s still attached to his little egg, maybe an hour hatched.
I cropped in a little too far in this one, but I was hoping to enable you to really him.

Macro Monday ~ The Feather
A feather in the grass while the rain was gently falling offered itself for examination.
I found it amazing how the droplets sat upon the feather!
And I wondered what was in the water?
A small pocket (flaw?) along the edge of the feather clung to a drip. The things I see in the rain drops, are they from the rain itself, or something that was on the feather?

Check out how round some of those droplets are! I guess a feather does not absorb anything, and I’m thinking whatever coats feathers should coat our cars and rain gear.
Strange Macro Monday
We brought some strawberry plants home this spring.
While planting them, we noticed some writing on the bottom of the flimsy cups that made us chuckle.
Thank goodness they’re also recyclable because I don’t see me serving tea to guests in them.

Frilly Macro Monday
I almost forgot I had taken some photos while at my parents’ last month. They had things blooming everywhere and so many critters. About time I emptied the card on my camera I guess, lol.
These were taken with the little point and shoot. I only took my 400mm lens with me on the big camera so any macros I did with the little guy.
