Maybe what we did for my parents was over the top too. Their stone is very simple. Their names on either side, two joined wedding bands in the center with the year of their wedding. Then at the bottom the word "mizpah' representing the prayer we always said as a family - "May the Lord watch between me and thee, while we are absent one from the other" Even just that was expensive - I can't imagine some of these others!
