Macro Monday Remembering Spring

IMG_5959

Remember my miniature rose that survived the winter? It didn’t survive the bunny. *sigh*

Last year we planted a little bit of ground cover in the flower bed to fill in. It came back nicely and even. . .

IMG_5985

bloomed!

I had fun pointing the camera at the blooms, not looking through, not knowing what I captured until I saw it on my computer. :)

Just a day or two later they were opened.

The tulips actually put some buds on this year, but they did not bloom.

We’ve been putting out a little corn in hopes the bunnies leave everything else alone. HA!

Sorry about the loss to the bunny. We lost a lot of our roses to deer. Hope your lovely photos provide some consolation.

The little ajuga blooms are like little minature orchids – I grow these too Lisa and I never realised how pretty the flowers were until I took a few macros – I was pleasantly surprised when I saw them on the screen too. BTW I loved those orange daisies in you sooc yesterday. Have a good week :) Rosie

So nice and fresh, I had similar tulipbuds this spring but the bambis eat them all before they bloom. I will plant some in a pot to have on my terrace next year, as it’s fenced they have to jump there and I hope they wont…….

The leaves of your blue/violet-flowered plant look furry and strokeable – a good choice for a sensory garden. Our tulips were very disappointing this year – just one or two pitiful blooms.

Love the variegated groundcover with the blue blossoms. Do you know the name of it? It looks like a mint of some sort.

I know that tulips emerge with a warm spell, but if it is followed by a cold snap, the stems will stop growing. Could that be what happened? They could also have been planted too deep.
