Macro Monday winter blooms

IMG_6986

I am really enjoying my first Amaryllis.  And Valentine’s Day seemed like a good time to share the gorgeous red blooms.  Happy Valentine’s day!

The blooms are a nice splash of color against the dreary winter.

I also extremely excited with my hibiscus plant deciding to bloom. Woohoo! Color!

Have a wonderful Valentines’ day! I can’t wait until I can find some color around here. It is all green (pine trees), brown (mud) and sometimes still white (snow). Yep, I could really use some color!! I love your shots. Those flowers are amazing!

Cool photos :)

We have a red hibiscus plant here by our Florida house, but it froze during December when we were below freezing! In March we’ll cut it down to the ground, and soon it’ll be growing and blooming again.

Filamen are such an interesting subject to capture, it’s easier with my prosumer Canon S5 with a Raynox macro lens but with a newer DSLR Pentax Kr, it;s a bit difficult with just the kit lens, Need to purchase a macro lens soon.
