The manatee. . .tail? These are the last of my manatee photos. I saved the pieces of manatee for macro monday, this is about as macro as you can get underwater on a huge animal, lol.
I call this one Bubbles.
I see you!
Smile! Looks like he needs a shave.
Snort!
I found their eyes very interesting.
Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign MckLinky.
MM started on Sept 29, 2008 – Thanx to all of you for helping make it such a fun start to the week!

Did you go swimming with these guys? My goodness, they are amazing shots. I think it’s fascinating. The eyes definitely have it, although they do seem less shiny than one might have expected. Guess vision isn’t that big a deal to them. I love these photos.

I love these creatures!

Oh Lisa that was extremely hilarious! I teasingly called my late dog Bogart a Manatee, a Walrus, and Dude
and lovingly at that! I love big, black clumsy looking stuff that hugs and are actually loving. But in case my SuperDog Sweepy is reading this, I adore ALL SuperDOGS, in any color! ;-/ My macro are new mushrooms sprouting and leaving Heaven. Have a great pain-free, fun weekend Lisa!

Yeah, it’s kinda tough to get any more macro-y than this on the subject you picked. But as always, you’ve done it splendidly.
An old girlfriend of mine is currently living in FL working on some project or other that’s manatee related. She’s hopelessly enamored of these creatures, and to diving, so I was just stupid happy that she’d found a way to make a living this way.
Lynda Lehmann said,
Amazing shots! I’ve never seen a manatee up close before. As a matter of fact, I’ve never seen one at all, except in books and movies!
