Nip it

lc2963

I am surprised to see that my roses are still putting on buds!

lc2964

Not only putting on buds, but also blooming!  This seems unusual to me, although this is the first year we’ve had roses in Wisconsin.

lc2965

Many hopefully buds – I have this feeling they are going to get nipped my frost!

lc2966

I will miss the blooms of summer, good thing I took a few photos to remind me during our white out.

Your roses have way more faith in the weatherman than mine do!

The macro are so gorgeous, Lisa! I wish I can grow something in my high-rise apartment , like some of my neighbor but I don’t have green thumb. Anything I grow will surely die because I tend to forgot about them once I’m inside the home. Plants are usually left in the common corridor here.

Awesome shooting as always Lisa… and I must confess, I’m surprised to see these too. I would have thought you’d be heading into the freeze-dry cycle already.

I love that first shot! There is something almost gritty but pretty about it too. :) I got your email I’ve just been so sick lately that I haven’t caught up on everything yet.

Don’t you wish there was a way to capture that fresh floral scent? Very sweet little buds, Lisa.

they have lasted a long time, ours got nipped a few weeks ago. I wandered over to my ornament exchange partners web page and had a look around. Thanks for putting this together. I’m pretty excited.

Pretty shots!

I have two hostas in the front yard that just started putting up buds a couple of weeks ago and are starting to bloom – when all the other hostas that I see in the neighborhood are turning brown and starting to die down for the winter! I can’t figure it out, but it’s a nice bonus!

Beautiful! Eler Beth was surprised to see roses still blooming recently, and I told her I’ve seen them blooming even close to December. I don’t think ours will do that this year, however. Have a feeling winter is going to come early, stay late, and plague us the whole time.

Wow, I can’t believe you’re still seeing buds with early morning frosts sweeping in all around. Beautiful flowers though. Hope all is well.
