Do you see what I see? Yes, it’s a piece of popcorn, but what else is it?
Did you say, ‘frog’? Well that’s what my aunt saw while eating her bowl of popcorn years ago. SO she promptly wrapped a piece of popcorn in tissue paper, boxed it up and sent it from Texas to Missouri to my mother (her sister). My mother loves frogs of all kinds so this piece of popcorn has been sitting in her china cabinet for many years now. It looks freshly popped doesn’t it?
Macro Monday is easy to play, snap a macro (or any close-up) photo, post it on your blog and come back here and sign MckLinky. Don’t forget to visit each other.
THANK YOU to each one of you for playing along! I love seeing what you come up with each week!

Another series of neat macros Lisa. Popcorn kernels have a way of getting stuck between my teeth, but there’s nothing quite like real popcorn (not the microwave stuff). I can smell it now.
I never saw a frog, but I did the greatest trick ever when I was a kid. We were on vacation at the Jersey shore and it was a rainy day. I caught a few toads and though it would be great fun to put them in an empty Cheerios box. You should have seen the look on my sister’s face when toads hopped into her bowl instead of cereal.
Smack me if I told this story before, but it was so much fun…

The popcorn is funny! And even funnier that it’s years old and has been on display in your mother’s cabinet! That’s just the sort of thing I’d do. LOL!

Wow, that corn has really held up well! I saw some painted one time. They were fabulous!

That is too cute! I really can see a frog- with eggs for eyes.
I have a couple of potato chips I’ve had for years. One has a cross in the center.

That sounds SO much like something my aunt Peggy would have done. And it does look amazingly fresh. I can see the frog, but I was going to guess Jar-Jar Binks.

What a cute story about an antique popcorn, lol ! But really even if I turn my screen upside down, I don’t see a frog (not even a cat, lol)

Funny… what I saw first off was two baby birds in a nest squawking to be fed. But once you said frog I could see that too. You could probably sell this on eBay for hundreds, ya know? It’d go perfectly in the collection with the Abe Lincoln french fry and the glow in the dark Jesus night light. Or something.
I always knew that stuff was indestructible. Last things on earth will be the cockroaches, and they’ll be living on popcorn.

Great “thing” looks remarkable fresh for it’s age

Your aunt has a very vivid imagination, it’s very hard to see a frog in this, but I loved the story!

love how the orange background makes that corn “pop”

I wonder how much it would go for in e-Bay; it can be listed right next to the potato chip that looks like the Virgin Mary.
