Oh I sure hope I am not in big-time trouble. I posted a Macro Monday photo for my friend, Linda. I have been after her to post this, and so I just posted it for her. To see her hound dog picture titled “The Howling,” you will need to scroll down the sidebar. It is posted right above the Blogroll. Be sure and check out the rest of her blog too. She is a gifted artist, writer and photographer (as well as a tracker and true animal rescuer/lover).
This is one of the hounds she uses for her tracking in Sacramento. They were driving along, and he decided to start this typical hound howling. So at a stoplight, Linda turned around with her camera and got this wonderfully funny picture of him.
I think it is just great! You know, I think I can see his tonsils in there too.

Starfish are fascinating creatures to watch in the water. When they’re wet their texture is soft and rubbery feeling and then get dry and rough as it dries out. Very cool picture!

I love the starfish shots – umm…can almost smell them. I spent many hours at the docks in Santa Barbara Ca. mucking about the piers while our boat was moored there – that’s all we did for fun was play with starfish, then put them back in the water……they do have a certain charm about them.

Very fun! I got a fish eye lens for xmas and have been playing around with it. I’ve found that if I attach it to my wide lens that came with the camera, I can get way closer than without it, although I don’t necessarily think it gets any closer than my zoom lens on macro.
I remember you mentioned using a fish eye for macros (or I imagined it.

these are GREAT! though i’m happy more comfortable seeing the starfish in this “dried” state than if it was still alive (with the spasms created by their tube feet)… now, i wonder what other treasures we can find in your grandson’s room?

Okay, I just went to the Adorama website and ordered a set of macro filters for my 85mm prime lens. I just couldn’t take it anymore. So in 7-10 business days (or probably sooner based on my history with them) watch out!
