What a Man!

I’m sure you have heard of the Old Man of the Mountain but did you know that New Hampshire also has an Old Man of the Valley?

We decided to take the short walk and check it out.

No, I don’t think this is the result of the crumbling of Mountain Man as my son tried to convince me teasingly.

But he is pretty cool. And you can get right up by him.

In fact, I even gave him a little kiss, which Haden snapped proof of for me.

We have vacationed in New Hampshire several times and never new this existed — we will have to check it out next time we are in that beautiful state! We’ve seen the Old Man of the Mountains many times but not since it crumbled!

I love it when nature does something like this, creating a man out of rock. It’s just amazing to me. Thanks for sharing this. :)

Oh I love it! My boys are always on the look out for interesting rock formations. We have one at the local beach that looks a bit like a seal (according to Zak anyway)

Cool! I didn’t see it in the first photo but then BAM — I saw him. And I think my parents took me to see “The Old Man In the Mountain” when I was a wee child.

I loved hiking to a set of rocks in the mountains back home. These pictures so remind me of that time in my life. Mind you the rocks weren’t shaped like a man. What a spectacular find. And, I must ask? Did he kiss well? Have a great night.

wow! whether it’s natural or man-made, the sculpture is a great find!… and the moss growing on it created more texture… so did he turn into a prince when you kissed him? *winks*…
